Where to stay in Preá? Praia do Preá has accommodation for every style: pousadas, holiday homes and a few hotels, almost all a few steps from the sea. The best choice depends on three things: the distance to the kitesurf spot, the type of accommodation and the atmosphere you are after. This guide helps you decide.

Preá or Jericoacoara?

Preá and Jericoacoara are in the same region, a few minutes apart, and quite different. Jeri has more nightlife, shops and a wide choice of pousadas. Preá is a quieter fishing village, with a long beach and constant wind, perfect for those who want kitesurfing, calm and feet in the sand. Many people stay in Preá and visit Jeri on a day trip.

Beachfront or in the village?

On the beachfront you wake up to the sound of the sea and reach the spot in a few steps, ideal for kitesurfing. In the village, options tend to be cheaper and close to the restaurants, but a bit further from the water. In Preá distances are short, so you can have both: the beachfront and the village a walk away.

Types of accommodation

  • Pousadas: handy for short stays, with breakfast and a reception.
  • Holiday homes and chalets: more privacy and your own kitchen, ideal for families, groups and long stays.
  • Hotels: few in Preá, with more structure and services.

How to choose your accommodation

Before booking, check:

  • The distance to the kitesurf spot: the closer, the better for sailing.
  • Real internet, if you work remotely (fiber and a backup).
  • An equipped kitchen, if you plan to cook or stay a season.
  • Calm and privacy, if you are after rest.
  • Parking, if you come by car.

Where we are: Chalet du Kite

Chalet du Kite is feet in the sand, 100 metres from the beach and the kitesurf spot. It is four chalets and a main house, with equipped kitchen, air conditioning and 70 Mb fiber internet with Starlink backup in all of them. It is the option for those who want kitesurfing, remote work and quiet in one place. Discover the houses for rent or the house for groups.

The best time to come

The wind blows from July to January, the high season for kitesurfing in Preá, when the village is busier. For those dates, and especially for New Year’s Eve, book early.
